New Year's Eve Soiree
Dec. 31st, 2010 10:33 am
Jennifer had put in extra overtime for this - though Set himself had arranged the servers, made of sand and storm - but the stage was set. The glossy black bar was stocked fully with any kind of alcohol you could ever desire, including a selection of Egyptian microbrews. To the right of it, the dessert bar - staffed by two lithe, sloe-eyed girls - has any sweet you might desire, from a chocolate fountain to creme brulee to a dense raspberry torte.
There are the low couches by the windows, where the waiters pass with French champagne and canapes regularly, and for those who don't mind the chill, there are the vast decks just outside, where you can appreciate the sight of New York on this night, or...possibly find some privacy for that New Year's kiss.

I considered it myself, but I just don't think I could truly fulfill my duties if I limited myself to one city." She chatted about gods who had found homes in New York and those who had stayed a bit more free and ethereal, like herself.
"It will be midnight soon," she said with a faint smile. "Whose new year will be graced with your kiss, Hyacinthe?" She wouldn't object, but she couldn't help but be curious if there was anyone else who had caught his eye.

He wished her earnestly, and moved off in the direction of the deck, using the odd bit of furniture to steady himself, his feet heavy and disobedient.
